Foreign Minister Yván Gil highlights the importance of global alliances for peace and human rights

In the framework of the 61st regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held a meeting this Tuesday with the Director General of the United Nations Office in Geneva, Tatiana Valovaya, in which he stressed the urgent need to strengthen international cooperation to “promote peace, rights human understanding and collective well-being”.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, from his Telegram channel, stressed that the dialogue allowed us to address the importance of building alliances between nations and their societies, oriented to mutual understanding and global stability.
In this regard, he highlighted the role of multilateral diplomacy as an essential tool to face contemporary challenges and agreed with Valovaya on the relevance of Sustainable Development Goal number 17, which promotes alliances to promote cooperation between governments, the private sector and civil society as a way to promote the egalitarian development of peoples.
Minister Yván Gil, in the context of his agenda in Geneva, has affirmed Venezuela's commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter and the strengthening of cooperation mechanisms that guarantee peace, respect for human rights and the integral development of peoples.
