Foreign Minister Yván Gil: The‎futuro of Iran and Venezuela is peace with social justice and solidarity

On the occasion of the reception in Caracas for the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil Pinto, thanked the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro, and the President in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, for the solidarity of the Persian nation with Venezuela.
‎ “It's always said that friends are counted in good times and in bad times; Iran has always been with us, in good times and in bad times,” he said.
‎Asimismo, foreshadowed that the future of Tehran and Caracas “is peace with social justice; peace with solidarity, peace with growth”, while adding that the relationship between the two nations is transparent and aims to achieve the well-being of their peoples.
‎ “The fate of our peoples will not be determined by bombs or missiles; it will not be determined by aircraft carriers (...) our destiny is defined and guaranteed by our morals, by our ethics, by our values, which are superior to any weapon of war,” he said.
‎Por for his part, the Iranian ambassador accredited to Venezuela, Ali Chegini, reiterated his nation's position contrary to the dominant intentions of the West, and recalled that the “Islamic Revolution defeated a dictatorial regime that worked for the interests of imperialism.”
‎Asimismo, referred to the fact that Iran has developed, in recent years, outstanding international cooperation with Venezuela in the political, cultural, energy and economic spheres.
‎Finalmente, Ambassador Chegini rejected the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady, deputy Cilia Flores, “as well as the murder of numerous soldiers and civilians by the United States; which constitutes, in the opinion of the Islamic Republic, a clear violation of international law, humanitarian principles and non-interference” in the internal affairs of States.
