Foreign Policy of AN in permanent session studies proposal to break relations with Spain

In order to follow a schedule of activities aimed at constructing a motion for a resolution to urge the Bolivarian Government to break diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Spain, the Permanent Committee on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration of the National Assembly (AN) declared itself yesterday in a permanent session.

The information was provided by the president of the aforementioned parliamentary body, Deputy Timoteo Zambrano, who explained that this decision responds to the instruction of the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, to address the above-mentioned international matter.

He specified that the commission will work on drafting an exhortation in accordance with the law, to comply with the guidelines established by the highest legislative authority, according to a press release from the National Parliament.

Zambrano highlighted the importance of this measure and stressed that it seeks to defend national sovereignty and respond to Parliament's guidelines, which is why the commission will focus on developing a solid and well-founded proposal that reflects the will of the Legislature.

He explained that the permanent session will allow the members of the Commission to coordinate and execute the necessary activities and he hopes that the draft resolution will be ready in the coming days, to be presented and debated in the National Assembly.
