The Freedom Flotilla ship 'Handala' must overcome the illegal Israeli blockade on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid, after setting sail this Sunday from the port of Syracuse, Italy.

The ship, which carries with it doctors, lawyers, volunteer activists, journalists and community organizers, will make a stopover in Gallipoli, in Apulia, an Italian region that has broken ties of collaboration with Israel.

For this trip, a live tracker was implemented on their website to track the ship's progress, which they consider to be a form of protection against the “real and well-documented risk of interception by Israeli naval forces”. Before storming the 'Madleen', the occupation intercepted and blocked their communications.
