The National Cinemateca Foundation extended the invitation to the film premiere of “Portal”, a musical documentary that will be presented this Friday, March 6, in the Cinemateca Room, located in the Museum of Fine Arts, Caracas, at 4:00 in the afternoon.

The audiovisual work is the testimony of a historic collaboration between Grupo Herencia, El Sistema and Humana Cine, originally created by teachers Manuel Moreno, Matías Azpúrua and Anderson Cordero during the XIII International Percussion Festival and in the context of the 50th Anniversary of the System. This piece manages to immortalize an unprecedented sound dialogue in our musical cinematography.

The National Cinemateca creates a bridge between academia and tradition, reaffirming its commitment to the dissemination of works that explore our identity. This staging called the “Portal” stands out for giving a leading role to the Afro-Venezuelan tradition within a symphonic structure.

This production of Herencia, El Sistema and Humana Cine captures the rhythmic force of ancient drums rather than a record, the task proposes a “geometry of life” where the Afro-Venezuelan tradition communicates equally with the orchestral color, projecting from the “Caracas Afro-Urbe” a new sound dimension and a cultural legacy that transcends our borders.
