The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) announced
the addition of Jhonny Ferreira as the new national coach of the Vinotinto U-17.
Through a publication on its website,
the FVF explained that Ferreira will take office, after the FIFA U-17
World Cup Qatar 2025.
Ferreira began his career as an assistant coach at Caracas FC, later managing Carabobo FC and Monagas SC. With the Eastern team, he qualified as champion of the Venezuelan Football League in 2017 and runner-up in the Venezuela Cup in 2019 and runner-up in the FUTVE League in 2022. In addition, he served as technical assistant for the Vinotinto Under 17 in 2009.
“His experience at the head of young schools
and his focus on training development make him a
strategic commitment to work with the country's next promising young people,” the publication notes.
The new coaching staff will start working with the
generation of players born in 2009 and 2010, with a view to the
CONMBEBOL U-17 in the year 2026, aligned with the comprehensive plan for
youth teams promoted by the FVF through the Corazón Vinotinto project.
For his part, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo will continue to lead the team that won third place in the CONMEBOL U-17 2025 and that will compete in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in November, after being ratified as U20 national coach last May.
