The Juan Bautista Plaza hall received the symphonic composition “Margariteña”, a work that was based on the 3 sensory experiences and experiences of the composers involved, with the help of the Venezuelan National Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of guest conductor José José Giménez.
With a room at full capacity, the gala began with Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major, composed for the year 1816 by the Austrian composer Franz Schubert, who with this piece pays tribute to the masters Mozart and Haydn and is characterized by its cheerful, light and lyrical tone, standing out for its melodic freshness and subtle orchestration without trumpets or clarinets.
Later, the Caracas composer Juan Bautista Plaza presented Picacho Abrupto, an outstanding symphonic poem composed by the famous Venezuelan musician, whose work forms part of his repertoire of orchestral music, which consolidated him as one of the most important composers in Venezuela during the first half of the 20th century. The work reflects Plaza's ability to evoke landscapes and emotions through orchestration.
The gala closed with the long-awaited and powerful “Margariteña” Symphonic Glosa, composed by maestro Inocente Carreño in 1954, who wanted to convey with this piece that love, as a tribute, that he feels for his island of Margarita. The 'Margariteña' Symphonic Suite is a work that pays tribute to the culture and traditions of her beloved land. This piece stands out for its fusion of folkloric elements with symphonic orchestration, reflecting the national identity.
