GAN will celebrate Plastic Artist's Day with various activities

This Thursday, May 10, the National Art Gallery (GAN) will kick off a series of activities, including exhibitions and film screenings, to honor the National Day of the Plastic Artist.

In this regard, this Thursday, at 6:30pm , the animated film Letters from Van Gogh, by directors Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, will be screened as part of their special program called Night Museums, with free admission, Venezuelan Television review.

Also, on Friday 9th at 5 in the afternoon, the exhibition entitled Yesterday and Today: Pre-Hispanic and Contemporary Utilitarian Ceramics from Venezuela will be presented, composed of a selection that belongs to the National Museums Foundation (FMN).

It will also include pieces by modern artists who dialogue with the history of tradition. Participating creators include Valerie Marie Brathwite, Carolina Jiménez, Manuela Zárate, Manuel Pérez and Javier Miranda.

On Saturday 10 at 2 in the afternoon, the exhibition Levitating Archetypes by the artist Bruno García will open. Curated and written by Félix Hernández. This is an anthology that summarizes 40 years of experience of this creator from the city of Punto Fijo, Falcón State

The National Day of the Plastic Artist is celebrated every May 10 in Venezuela, to commemorate the birth of Armando Reverón, a distinguished creator of painting, wristmaking and assemblage, accentuating his style in three periods, characterized by colors: blue, white and sepia.
