A total of 45 state-of-the-art compactor trucks were distributed in 11 states of the country, as part of an initiative led by the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Public Works and Services, under the guidelines of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, in order to reinforce environmental sanitation in Miranda, La Guaira, Anzoátegui, Amazonas, Bolívar, Mérida, Monagas, Táchira, Lara, Zulia and the Capital District.

With this amount, the authorities estimate an increase in solid waste collection to 600 tons per day. The assigned fleet is specifically planned to ensure maximum efficiency in favored regions. A lot of 10 trucks will serve major thoroughfares and main avenues, while another 15 units will exclusively cover commercial areas. The remaining 20 vehicles are properly designed to travel safely through internal streets and sectors of popular communities.

In addition to waste collection, the National Executive allocated heavy machinery, such as crawler tractors and excavators, for immediate incorporation into the 2026 Rain Plan. The Sectorial Vice President of Public Works, engineer Juan José Ramírez, reported that, in the face of the arrival of the first tropical waves, these teams will carry out preventive works at the national level, whose priority tasks include channeling rivers, cleaning streams and providing timely attention to situations that arise.

For his part, the Minister for Ecosocialism, Freddy Ñáñez, emphasized that this provision is part of a comprehensive policy focused on sustainable waste management under a co-responsible approach. The plan also contemplates the structural intervention of the 203 existing landfills in the Venezuelan territory, as part of an objective that aims at the progressive transformation of these spaces into optimal transfer stations and sanitary landfills.
