During the National Enlistment Day, Genesis Garvett, president of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission, highlighted the active participation of youth in the defense of national sovereignty.
“We are on a day for our people who have demonstrated their will to defend independence. The young people of Venezuela are getting ready to send a clear message to the world: we demand respect for the lies that North American imperialism seeks to impose,” he said.
He emphasized that the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro represents the continuity of a Revolution that has resisted and remains at the forefront of the battle.
“We are consistent with his example of loyalty to Commander Chávez and Liberator Simon Bolivar. The Venezuelan extreme right will not be on the side of defending the homeland. That task belongs to Chavism and the patriots,” he said.
For her part, Grecia Colmenares, Secretary General of Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV), invited young people to participate in the enlistment that is taking place in the Bolivar squares of the 335 municipalities of the country.
“Young people know that they have in their hands the willingness to defend their homeland. We call on people from the age of 15 to register with the Bolivarian National Militia,” he said.
Colmenares emphasized that young people are committed to peace to continue their studies, cultural and sports activities.
“We are at the forefront of the country's transformations and are willing to guarantee sovereignty. The future of Venezuela is woven with our hands,” he added.
He reiterated his rejection of any form of foreign interference. “Imperialism has not been able and will not be able to deal with the Venezuelan people. Venezuela is impregnable,” he concluded.
