This Wednesday, the Deputy Minister of Prevention, Public Security and Peace Quadrants, G/ D Endes Palencia, reported that a total of 700 officials from the public security bodies are deployed in the Basilica of Santa Teresa in Caracas, as part of the “Safe Holy Week 2026" device, in order to guarantee the safety and peace of parishioners.
In this regard, Palencia highlighted that this deployment at the national level has the strength of more than 229,000 officials throughout the country, who carry out this laudable work of integration and care for the population.
He also indicated that in this space 150 students from the National Experimental Security University (UNES) are carrying out special work following the guidelines established by the president in charge of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.
“We are in the jurisdiction of peace quadrant number 3, following instructions from the sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, and the president in charge of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, to deploy us nationally in everything that constitutes this Safe Holy Week 2026" device, he said.
He noted that at midnight on March 31, approximately 3,000 people attended the Basilica, demonstrating the devotion of the Venezuelan people.
He emphasized that Holy Week is a special time for family reunion and coexistence, and assured that all security entities work in an integrated manner to ensure the protection of parishioners who visit the 256 prioritized temples at the national level.
However, he announced that for the next few days the “route to the Seven Temples” will take place, with special tours in Caracas that include the Basilica of Santa Teresa.
The Deputy Minister also called for special attention to children and the elderly who attend temples, stressing that 127 health cases were treated during the day, including a minor incident involving a child who was evacuated to a hospital and treated without complications. “We are committed to ensuring that every person who attends our religious activities is properly cared for,” he said.
Finally, G/D Palencia reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and citizen security bodies to the protection and well-being of the Venezuelan people during this Holy Week.
