The governor of Miranda, Elio Serrano, handed over the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital of Los Valles del Tuy Simón Bolívar, located in the Tomas Lander municipality.

These new spaces, which will allow newborns with critical health conditions to receive rapid care, “this is definitely an important step forward and we are sure care will increase in this healthcare center,” said the Governor.

He added that with this new service it will not be necessary to refer newborns in the Valles del Tuy to other health centers in Caracas.

In this regard, the director of the hospital, Luis Sánchez, explained that the unit has five neonatologists and 10 nurses; as well as four incubators and four mechanical ventilators.
