Government of Monagas signed the first agreement at the national level of the Communal Agrifood Plan

En within the framework of the Communal Agrifood Plan 2026, the governor of the state of Monagas, Ernesto Luna, together with the mayor of the Cedeño municipality, Daniel Monteverde, delivered an important batch of agricultural inputs aimed at strengthening production in the Viento Fresco parish.
The activity, carried out on the Buena Vista collective farm, directly benefited 66 producers from the “Ezequiel Zamora” Productive Commune, who received yellow corn seeds, fertilizers, urea, fertilizer and fuel to work a total of 270 hectares destined to corn crops for food security in the region.
During the event, Luna highlighted that the beneficiaries received agricultural packages adapted to the needs of the soil and climate of Viento Fresco. The inputs will make it possible to optimize corn planting with the objective of strengthening the local productive circuit and supplying the municipality's communal markets, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) reported on its website.
“I am very happy to be here sharing with you, who are the moral force and are making a gigantic effort to boost the productive engine and guarantee food on our tables. With this plan, we are not improvising. With this plan, we are going to achieve the success we want,” he said.
Por for his part, Mayor Monteverde highlighted the importance of the articulation between the different levels of Government and organized Popular Power.
“Thanks to the joint work with the Ezequiel Zamora Commune, 66 producing families today receive the support they need to sow and harvest. This is the path: Government-Commune alliance; for the development of Cedeño,” he said.
During the activity, producer Rubén Bárdenas, a beneficiary of 20 hectares, signed the first agreement of the Municipal Agrifood Plan 2026 .
In addition, Arelys Rodríguez, the beneficiary producer, thanked the endowment and committed herself to maximizing the yield of the hectares under her responsibility.
“We are very happy and proud that this plan is being developed in the municipality thanks to the joint work between the Bolivarian Government and the People's Power. Here, producers are going to work hard to achieve sustainable food sovereignty in Monagas,” he stressed.
