The Government of Táchira, in joint action with the mayor's office of San Cristóbal, HIDROSUSOESTE and the Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor Foundation, are carrying out work to correct settlements on the road platform in El Mirador, via Rubio.

The information was confirmed by Ángel Márquez, head of the Táchira Road Institute (IVT), specified that, motivated by excavations for the replacement of pipes and the formation of the new road grade, the measure to restrict traffic will be maintained intermittently during this week.

He also explained that due to the breakdowns of the sewage, white and rainwater pipes in the vicinity of the reinforced concrete wall in the area, a severe settlement has occurred on the road platform, creating risks for drivers. However, he added that the wall “has not suffered any type of failure, according to a technical inspection carried out on site.”

In this regard, it was known that it is estimated that an approximate length of 100 meters is conditioned, by replacing 8 and 26 inch pipes and the successive shaping of the new road grade and finally placing the hot asphalt.

Finally, he called for caution and alert to drivers, while asking for maximum collaboration regarding the traffic restrictions that will be extended during the week.
