The governor of the state of Zulia, Luis Caldera, reported that a total of 978,000 doses against foot-and-mouth disease were applied in the state in the second cycle of immunization against the disease affecting cattle.
Caldera specified that this advance places the state above other regions of the country with an agricultural vocation and consolidates a prevention and management policy that combines public investment with operational efficiency, regional press reports.
The governor recalled that for the second vaccination cycle in 2025, the Government not only managed logistics, but also proceeded to the direct purchase and import of biological products to guarantee the shielding of the Zulian herd.
“To the extent that the territory is declared free of foot-and-mouth disease, our cattle can be exported. We are ready to bring Zulian meat and milk to the rest of the continent,” he stressed.
