Some 82.9 kilometers of roads on the Cimarrón Andresote Central-Western Highway, in Yaracuy state, have been recovered with demarcation, installation of luminaires and asphalting, according to the Última Noticias website.

This was reported this Friday by the president of the Yaracuy Bonito Foundation, Miguel Mendoza, who said that the plan seeks to restore convenience and comfort to this road corridor that connects the center with the west of the country, in addition to ensuring optimal passability for transporting cargo and individuals.

He explained that the execution of the project is currently concentrated on a first phase that extends from the entrance of the state of Yaracuy to the municipality of Bruzual.

He mentioned that nearly 900 tons of asphalt mixture have been placed to correct faults in the bearing surface in distributors located in key points such as Caseteja, Chivacoa and the Yaritagua elevation.

Mendoza pointed out that the tasks include milling the damaged folder and applying base coating before pouring the new material to ensure durability.

“The importance of these works responds to the high demand for the road used massively by heavy and light transport from states such as Lara and Carabobo. It is our main communication channel and, therefore, we are giving it special treatment that guarantees full security for everyone,” he said.

Mendoza stressed that of the total 116 kilometers covered by the highway in Yaracuya territory, more than 70% of horizontal signage, or demarcation, has already been completed, with the 82.9 kilometers intervened in the first phase.

He pointed out that the installed luminaires have substantially improved the safety of distributors from the beginning of the state to Chivacoa.

He also announced that given the approach of the rainy season, the crews of the Yaracuy Bonito Foundation carry out drain cleaning tasks and preventive maintenance in channels to prevent water from affecting the base of the asphalt. Weeding work and constant attention to the sides and the central island of the highway are also part of the plan.

He announced that the second phase is already showing progress in demarcation, extending from Chivacoa to the La Raya sector. “To strengthen these works, an additional heavy equipment front will be added this week that will allow a more robust and faster execution of the asphalt binder in the remaining sections,” he concluded.
