A total of seven fronts of work are active in the South of the Lake, including strategic points such as kilometer 19 and Caño Rosalba, to mitigate the impact of rains on Zulia, said the governor of the entity, Luis Caldera.
In the publication of Última Noticias on its website, it specifies that, through a bulletin, the government indicated that an eighth team is being incorporated in the Valderrama area after the detection of the rupture of a section of the retaining wall, as a result of leaks and the accumulated deterioration of hydraulic works that had been paralyzed since 2023.
“We are already working with the team, together with the head of Civil Protection, on the retaining wall in Valderrama. We have a barge with a jumbo long arm to address this situation,” said Caldera.
He stated that these actions are in addition to the constant supervision of the dams of the Zulia, Catatumbo and Chama rivers.
In the area of road connectivity, the president announced the start of a comprehensive rehabilitation plan on the Falcón-Zulia axis, specifically in the stretch between the municipalities of Miranda and Maracaibo.
“We began the intervention of three sewers: two drawer-type and one pipe, which will be replaced. In addition, we will begin patching and rehabilitation work on this section with the first 2,000 tons of asphalt, covering from Santa Rita to the Miranda municipality,” he said.
For the execution of these works, he explained that strict communication is maintained with the governor of the state of Falcón, Víctor Clark, ensuring the necessary coordination to ensure the fluidity and safety of this important road artery that connects both states.
