The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of the People's Power of Public Works, is advancing the strategic project to rehabilitate the runway of the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base, located in La Carlota, Miranda state.

The work involves placing more than nine thousand tons of asphalt in a space of more than 41 thousand square meters. The main objective of this major intervention is to optimize the quality of air operations in this strategic area of the Sucre municipality, reports the Venezolana de Televisión website.

Work began in La Carlota in January, in compliance with a rigorous technical schedule that initially included the removal of asphalt binder, followed by comprehensive cleaning and conditioning of the entire road to make way for the current asphalting phase.

The progress of the work is constant in the current execution; to date, 1,278 tons of asphalt have been placed, while the final goal of the project involves the total installation of nine thousand 17 tons of hot asphalt.

The infrastructure is renovated under strict safety controls, with the use of materials designed specifically for airstrips and in strict compliance with all international technical standards.

With the execution of this project, the Ministry of Public Works reaffirms its commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure for air operations, in order to strengthen the safety and efficiency of the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base.
