The governor of the state of Sucre, Jhoanna Carrillo, this Friday, March 6, declared a State of Water Emergency in the municipalities of Sucre (Cumaná), Bolívar (Marigüitar) and Cruz Salmerón Acosta (Araya), due to a critical structural failure in the transfer pipeline of the Turimiquire System.

According to a statement published on the social network Instagram of the Government of Sucre, it was detailed that the fault was caused by a recent earthquake, which caused severe structural damage to the water system, collapsing the supply of drinking water to the above-mentioned jurisdictions and part of the state of Nueva Esparta.
