The governor of the state of Anzoátegui, Luis José Marcano, visited the community of Santa Cruz, a mountainous destination located in the municipality of Libertad, to verify the land production processes that are being carried out there.

“We invested more than 170,000 dollars in the rehabilitation of almost 15 km of rural roads to promote agriculture between the municipalities of Bolívar and Libertad in the Turimiquire,” he said.

On his account on the social network Instagram, he noted that “this Sunday we visited the wonderful experience of planting 100,000 tomato plants and 80,000 paprika plants by one of the private producers in the area, here we can see the great progress in the development of one of the areas with the greatest economic potential in the state.”

Marcano inspected the compaction works carried out on the agricultural road in this area, where nine of the almost 15 kilometers of rural roads have already been intervened, to favor the hamlets of Buenos Aires, Cerro Negro, El Cielo and Santa Cruz.

Anzoátegui has beautiful places, but if there is one that I could say is truly a paradise, it is this space in the mountains of Turimiquire that corresponds to our state,” he said.

He also mentioned that planting work is continuing, to consolidate the Million Coffee Plants Project, a special category that, due to the cool peaks of these towns, makes this axis an ideal coffee area for ecotourism and agritourism.

He also stressed that the growth of these agricultural activities guarantees the commercialization and distribution of food as part of the national supply, with a view to projecting the export of the same.
