New adaptations and improvements to the Chorros
de Milla Zoological Park, in the state of Mérida, are ready and in service to be
released during the Easter holidays 2026, announced the governor of
the entity, Arnaldo Sánchez.
From social networks, he highlighted that “we are in Los Chorros de Milla, in
our zoo (...) I want to show everyone the improvements we made
so that they (the general public) come and share”.
The governor toured the
spaces and areas intervened for the enjoyment of his own and tourists, to verify the progressive progress achieved in the
renovation of roads and their complete suitability for use by
people with disabilities, an achievement that expands and improves care
at this zoo, under premises of social inclusion.
In the
enclosure, which houses dozens of specimens such as felines, birds,
rodents, bears and marsupials, among others, an
indispensable adaptation was made to cages for veterinary use, incorporating a
mechanism that allows large cats and bears to be immobilized for the application of vaccines and treatments.
In addition, adjustments
were made to public sanitary facilities to
serve visitors and tourists, renovating spaces essential
for the good care of the people in this zoological park, which dates back to 1955, when it was built
.
