The Great National Meeting on Communal Economy will be held this Wednesday, February 4, as a strategic setting to make communal production visible. In the run-up to this event, community representatives shared their experience in boosting local productivity.

‎‎Desde Macarao, the spokesman for the Commune For Love and Loyalty to Chávez, Oliver Martínez, stressed that the territory has nine communes and nine peasant councils; and he previously carried out work to characterize the local peasantry, which made it possible to make producers visible, in order to draw up a comprehensive productive development plan for the territory.‎‎

He also highlighted that Macarao's agro-urban production is developed completely communally, with the support of State institutions.

He explained that significant advances were made in agricultural roads, which guarantees better conditions for the productive year, as well as the delivery of a credit for the breeding of 200 pigs destined for the nine peasant councils of the corridor, an initiative that required high levels of organization and real-time monitoring of each producer.‎‎

Martínez also highlighted the training approach of the Commune, highlighted the desire to promote an agro-urban school to train young people in ancestral knowledge and food production, as part of a communal pedagogy oriented to food sovereignty and generational change.
