The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas reported this
Wednesday the freezing, without a deadline, of talks on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and
the exchange of prisoners and kidnapped persons, following the assassination in Beirut, Lebanon, of
the deputy head of its Political Bureau, Saleh
al-Arouri, by the Zionist regime of Israel.
In a statement, Hamas said it rejects
any talk about reaching a ceasefire amid
growing Israeli Zionist aggression and plans to assassinate Palestinian leaders.
In addition, he noted that he transmitted this decision - shared by
Islamic Jihad - to the mediators of Qatar and Egypt who are participating in the negotiations
for the ceasefire.
For its part, the Lebanese Islamic resistance movement
Hezbollah accused Israel of being the perpetrator of the assassination. In a statement,
the Shiite militia stated that this “will not go unanswered or punished”
and that its fighters are ready to retaliate.
He considered the incident “a serious attack against
Lebanon, its people, its security and sovereignty”. He valued that after its failures
during its aggression against Gaza, Tel Aviv resorts “to a policy of
assassination and physical liquidation of all those who worked, planned,
carried out or supported the heroic Al-Aqsa Flood”.
After the assassination of al-Arouri, Egypt
officially informed Israel that it froze its role in mediating between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian
resistance to reach an agreement to end the conflict in Gaza.
According to press reports, Israel informed the
mediators that it will not stop the assassinations against Hamas leaders,
confirming its intention to kill more Palestinians to force a truce.
A few days ago, through a missile attack, Tel Aviv
assassinated in the Syrian capital, Damascus, the commander of the Corps of Guardians of
the Islamic Revolution, Seyed Razi Musavi.
