Two at-bats were enough for Venezuelan
José Altuve to command the Houston Astros victory over the Texas
Rangers 8-5, at Minute Miad Park.
The Venezuelan took to the streets in the first and third inning, in the
face of the throws of starter Nathan Eovaldi, both alone to give Houston
the advantage 2-0.
The Siderales' second baseman left
5-3 with two home runs, one single, two runs scored and two RBIs.
With the two RBIs, Altuve has 754 in his
history in the major leagues, a figure with which he tied Melvin Mora for
15th place among the most unstoppable players born in Venezuela.
In the 17 games with the Astros this season,
he has 15 games with at least one hit, five home runs, eight doubles, 26 hits, 7
RBIs and 7 runs scored, with a batting average of .382.
With this average, Astro Boy woke up this Monday,
April 15, as second in the batting lead in the big leagues, and
with 26 hits he is the leader in this department.
