Head of State: Cut in tariffs between China and the US highlights the economic power of the Asian country

This Monday, May 12, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that the cut in tariffs between China and the United States, by more than 100% for 90 days, reveals the economic power of the Asian nation.

In that regard, he stressed that “Trump backed down his threats of a trade war against China. It has recognized China's economic power, it has taken a step backwards, to contain the harmful effects of this war.”

“This leaves several lessons. We must recognize that the U.S. government attacked the world with an illegal tariff war,” emphasized the 79th edition of the Con Maduro+ program.

He stressed that “in a desperate way, (Trump) sought dialogue with China, which, using diplomacy and looking after the interests of humanity, agreed to dialogue.”

In this context, he asserted that this decision “is the birth certificate of the multipolar world. They can say anything, because their propaganda machine begins: 'Trump's great triumph', going backwards?”

The head of state stated that the path of the world must be dialogue and progress in respect.

He welcomed the fact that there is dialogue and understanding, “I tell President Donald Trump from Caracas, Venezuela, the free territory of South America, that the only path is dialogue, respect. Respect so that they respect you.”

“Venezuela will always be ready for dialogue and understanding, but with absolute respect for our right to peace, to the Constitution and to sovereignty,” he said.

He argued that “with the word everything is possible”.
