The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that in Venezuela, following the example, ethics, morals and Bolivarian vision of Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, “science is done for life, the common good, for war and the country's development, not for war.”
“There those who do science to launch missiles and kill Peoples, those who launch missiles to massacre men and women are criminals and genocides,” he criticized.
In this regard, he stressed that “in Venezuela, science is not done to dominate the world, our science is not based on an ethic of hegemony and world domination. Science is not done to create viruses that infect humanity.”
He added that “science is not done to commercialize solutions that could cure serious diseases and that do not reach the broad masses, the People, and keep people sick while making great fortunes through the pharmaceutical industry.”
“In Venezuela, first-class science is being done, obtaining answers to major problems of humanity,” he said at the National Pantheon, on the occasion of the transfer of the mortal remains of Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán.
The head of state said that “we don't have enough time to sufficiently communicate the great achievements of these good men and women, to communicate the achievements that are being achieved every day”.
