The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed on Monday the national indignation over the kidnapping of the two-year-old girl Maikelys Espinoza by the immigration authorities of the United States (USA).

“The kidnapping of the girl came to the brim, we could say, to overflow the feeling of indignation and national anger in the face of the absolutely unfair, inhumane action of the United States government against the Venezuelan people, against Venezuelan migrants in United States territory,” said the Head of State during the 78th broadcast of his program Con Maduro+.

He recalled that the indignation of the people “had reached very high levels” with the kidnapping of 252 Venezuelan migrants in a maximum-security prison in El Salvador, so there have been days of collecting signatures, mobilizations and acts of solidarity with family members.

“That has already mobilized the national soul, the strength of a people in general. But knowing that a 2-year-old girl was separated from her mother, her father was sent to El Salvador and the girl is being kidnapped by the United States government behind bars. That has triggered national outrage and anger. I can't qualify it any other way. Love turned into indignation, love for that girl, for her family, for the right to have her mother there by her side,” said the Dignitary.
