The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed this Monday the creation of a law so that the country's governorates and mayors have the obligation to finance projects that arise from popular consultations.

“On May 25, there are governor elections. Now all the governorates to enter through the hoop. All elected governors must be thinking about a law, making the Law of the Communes mandatory for the governor and mayor to finance the projects of popular consultations. I'll take care of the first one, whoever wins,” said the Head of State during the 77th edition of his Con Maduro+ program.

He stressed that funding is guaranteed “for the four general community consultations this year and is guaranteed for the consultation of the youth and culture project. Six inquiries, six projects, and the resources are there,” he emphasized, reporting that he instructed the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, “to proceed quickly and without delay to deposit the money to finance the projects immediately. Complete the projects, finance the new projects”.
