Head of State: The Decree of National Mourning is a tribute to Pope Francis

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that he signed the Presidential Decree declaring three days of National Mourning, for the death of Pope Francis, starting this Monday, April 21, starting at 6:00pm until next Thursday 24 at the same time.
“I have signed a Presidential Decree declaring three days starting today at 6:00 in the afternoon,” he said during the broadcast of the 76th edition of the program “With Maduro+”.
He stated that the decree is “in homage to Pope Francis, a set of acts, events and liturgies must be held to carry out the sincere prayer of the ordinary man and woman to give him their prayer, their good intention and love, which is what he asked for and liked”.
The head of state assured that the objective is to pay a sincere tribute “to this Pope who represented, represents and will represent so much for the future of Christianity. When I talk about Christianity, I talk about God.”
