Health authorities in Venezuela and Brazil evaluate mechanisms to strengthen the supply of medicines

The authorities of the Venezuelan health sector and a delegation from the Federative Republic of Brazil held a strategic meeting at the headquarters of the National Institute of Hygiene Dr. Rafael Rangel, in Caracas, with the purpose of reviewing the national regulatory framework and exploring alliances that consolidate the installation and operation of pharmaceutical companies of the South American giant in Venezuelan territory.
According to a press release from the Health portfolio, the activity included the participation of the director of the host institution, Luisana Melo, together with representatives of Brazilian laboratories and diplomatic officials, including the minister counselor of the Embassy of Brazil in Caracas, Breno Hermann. During the day, attendees shared technical and institutional experiences aimed at strengthening commercial ties and scientific production, focused on the well-being of both nations.
On the part of the national regulation, the director of the Autonomous Health Comptroller's Office, Esperanza Briceño, described the meeting as an extremely affable and fruitful space. The official explained that this approach with local regulatory authorities is essential for the foreign business block to know in depth the guidelines that govern the market.
He also expressed the State's absolute willingness to encourage this group of investors to consolidate production and marketing firms in the country, an initiative that will energize the formal economy and guarantee safe and comprehensive access to medical treatment for the Venezuelan people.
