Héctor Obregón was ratified as president of Petroleos de Venezuela

The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, ratified Héctor Andrés Obregón Pérez as president of Petrleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), the Última Noticias website reported.

This was established by Decree No. 5,273, published in the Official Gazette No. 43,335 dated March 13, 2026.

The ratification responds to the “commitment and will to achieve the greatest political effectiveness and revolutionary quality for the construction of socialism”, as specified in the official text.

In addition, new members were appointed to the Board of Directors of the state oil company. Jovanny José Martínez Navarro took office as Executive Vice President (in charge) and Vice President of Planning and Engineering.

Eduardo Lorenzo Pinto Salazar will be in the Vice Presidency of Exploration and Production of PDVSA, while the Vice Presidency of Refining was in charge of Nelson Ferrer Sánchez.

For his part, Jannier Viloria Quintero was appointed Vice President of Gas.

The rest of the management team is made up of Anabel Pereira Fernández, in the Vice Presidency of International Trade and Supply; Juan Carlos Díaz Socorro, in the Vice Presidency of Commerce and National Supply; Christiam Hernández Verdecana, in the Vice Presidency of Finance, and Ronny Rafael Romero Rodríguez, in the Vice Presidency of International Affairs.
