2,916 Popular Government Rooms have already been installed in the country, in an advance in the democratization of the national political system, said the Vice President for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez.

“We are in a time of transition where bureaucracy is resisting and we must wage a constant battle to prioritize people's needs. The idea is that citizens participate fully and that they have development plans,” he said from the room of the Carapita Insurgent Socialist Commune, located in the Antímano parish in Caracas.

Also, according to a press release from the vice-presidency, during the visit to the community, Leidy Rosendo, head of the Popular Government Chamber, stressed: “we are taking an important step as a communal government, as requested by Chávez, towards the transfer of competence and resources to the communes through the control and monitoring of public policies.”

He added that from this room all the information will be collected to improve the quality of life of communities in the area.

For her part, Patricia Castro, spokeswoman for the commune, explained that the process of transformation in that community has strengthened the commune.

So far they are working on three projects, one for packaging, the construction of the retaining wall of a communal council and the recovery of the Simoncito de Antimano.
