The rector of the Antonio José de Sucre International School of Youth Leadership, Héctor Rodríguez, identified this Monday the three fundamental lines of this study house: discipline, method and loyalty.

In this regard, he emphasized that these must be the guide of all academic processes and the profile of graduates, and added that these foundations are inspired by the life and work of the hero who gives the institution its name.

“That name was not given by chance, every young person who passes through this school must assume these lines, distinctive characteristics of Marshal Sucre, based on his training work and, even more, on his work as a leader,” he argued.

According to a press release from the Education portfolio, Rodríguez recalled that Sucre was always aware of its role in the fight for Latin American independence and maintained that, in the same way, youth leadership must work with “full awareness of their responsibility” in building a world without imperialism, a great Latin American homeland and a more just society.

“This is nothing other than Simon Bolivar's ideal and it's the same ideal that doesn't unite us as Venezuelans,” he said.

Take advantage of the experience

Youth Minister Grecia Colmenares referred to this school's introductory course as “a fruitful experience” that has captured the impetus of young Venezuelans.

He explained that all students are going to decide what the operating method of the school will be like, which “was a cry of the youth”, which for a long time required a space to train all youth leadership and that today President Nicolás Maduro made possible.

“It's a short period (a week), make the most of all the time, all the activities. Let's learn by doing as Simon Rodriguez said, in our daily homework. Every school activity is part of the pensum, the sporting activity, helping with cleaning tasks, in the kitchen,” he argued.
