The popular consultation is a tool to remove the power of the bureaucracy to make the decision of what to do with the resources I have and it is decided by the community itself, said the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez.

During a deployment of the Brigades for the Care of Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Homeland in the Los Frailes sector of Caracas this Tuesday, Rodríguez indicated that strengthening popular power is strengthening community government through the direct management of public funds.

According to a press release, the vice president compared the national administration with the economy of a household. “To govern is to solve infinite problems how you govern a house you govern a country. How much money I have and you have to start prioritizing,” he said.

Regarding the execution of the works, Rodríguez specified that large projects can be carried out gradually. “If the project is very large, we are going to solve it in parts,” he said.

He added that boosting productivity is required in community organizations to complement the resources allocated by mayors.

Finally, the official urged local leaders to ensure communication with all sectors of the population to make decisions about the projects to be implemented. “Leaders have to go house to house, through WhatsApp groups, newspapers, newspapers, radio, radio, Bemba radio, audio, all because not always those who don't participate are because they don't want to, sometimes they can't,” he concluded.

The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, called for the next Popular Consultation for July 12, a national day in which citizens will choose priority projects for the development of their communities.
