HIDROVEN performs maintenance on the Cañabrava dam in the state of Mérida

The Multidisciplinary Water Team, in coordination with the Secretariat for the Development of Public Services of the government of the state of Mérida, began comprehensive maintenance work on the Cañabrava dam, one of the main sources of power for the Mucujepe water treatment plant.
In a press release, the state government details that this operational action directly optimizes the quantity and quality of
the flow that enters the treatment
system, ensuring a
much more efficient and continuous distribution of drinking water for families in Merida.
The
work in the area includes a first phase of deep cleaning in
the desander to remove sediment accumulated by the rains.
Subsequently, a deployment of heavy machinery will be carried out for the
channeling of the river and the construction of slope protection works,
in order to shield the hydraulic infrastructure from the floods of the water body and prevent future interruptions of
the service.
This
intervention is part of the priority projects undertaken by the
Ministry of People's Water Power during the installation of the General
Staff of Public Services in the entity, aimed at
conditioning and improving regional catchment systems.
