As part of a strategic alliance, between the “Francisco J. Duarte” Astronomy Research Center Foundation (CIDA) and the University of Los Andes (ULA), high school graduates from the state of Mérida acquire new knowledge in mathematics to strengthen their capacities in the university environment.

Young people are served with personalized counseling sessions and structured classes, with support from the Scientific-Astronomical Training Unit, which works in coordination with the CIDA Citizens' Service Office.

José Candia, a member of this unit, reported that classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday morning. Prior to academic preparation, a diagnostic evaluation was carried out on more than 25 interested young people, with the objective of adjusting the study plan.

The program is regularly attended by 12 students. The first two weeks, they evaluated their doubts about various topics and, later, they continued with Mathematics 10 classes, taught by the Faculty of Sciences of the ULA.

These actions promote quality education, as guided by the Bolivarian Government, promoting a direct approach to science and technology to promote a generation capable of taking on the future challenges of the Digital Age.
