This Wednesday, the government of Honduras, chaired by Xiomara Castro, through the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enrique Reina, condemned the attempted coup d'etat and the vandalism of violent groups financed by the Venezuelan extreme right.

“The government of Honduras condemns any attempted coup d'etat in Venezuela and the use of force by violent groups, calls for respect for the institutionality and the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people expressed at the polls,” Reina wrote in her X account.

He also described the Venezuelan presidential elections as peaceful and wide-ranging in participation. “We have recognized the announcement by the electoral authority of an irreversible trend, the only authority responsible for completing the process of counting the minutes.”

“The international campaign launched before, during and after to ignore elections, full of fake news and resulting from those who were not present in the process, is not impartial. We have to wait for the full analysis and the declaration of the electoral authority.”

In this regard, he urged not to “forget the shameful precedent of recognizing Guaidó as an illegitimate, illegal and non-existent president. For purely ideological reasons.”
