Honduras: National Electoral Council calls for general elections

The plenary session of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Honduras, this Thursday during a national channel in compliance with the electoral calendar and with the commitment to ensuring a transparent, inclusive and reliable process, called general elections for November 30, details Prensa Latina.
In order to guarantee the security and development of the electoral event, the body reported that the budget prepared for the contest was sent to the National Congress, which must be approved by the legislature at the beginning of next week.
1,737 million lempiras equivalent to 66.8 million dollars that will be used for the national deployment of CNE officials responsible for training members of vote-receiving boards and electronic electoral guardians, among others.
It was also announced that there will be 18 departmental commissions and 298 municipal commissions and the acquisition of satellite antennas to ensure connectivity in all voting centers.
The budget will also be used for the implementation of technologies recognized by law for the transparency of the electoral process, such as the transmission of preliminary election results and the biometric identification system, the counselors added in their appearance.
