The United States bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities caused significant structural damage, including to underground accesses, of these complexes, revealed the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi,
In a balance sheet released this Sunday, Grossi revealed that despite the attacks on the nuclear centers of Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan, there has been no increase in radiation outside the facilities.
However, as reported by Telesur, he warned of the critical risk posed by these attacks to global nuclear security.
The director of the IAEA called on all parties to urgently return to the diplomatic path, stating that the organization is ready to resume its verification work in Iran, interrupted since the beginning of hostilities.
“The IAEA must have immediate and unrestricted access to affected facilities. Only through dialogue can regional stability be restored and a disaster prevented,” Grossi stressed.
It is important to highlight that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on June 13, and with the entry of the United States into the conflict on June 20, Iran has suffered more than a dozen direct attacks on its civil and scientific infrastructure.
