With the objective of strengthening basic education and the love of reading in the youngest children, the mayor's office of Ocumare de la Costa de Oro in the state of Aragua handed out 300 books to preschool children in the territory.
The activity was led by the director of culture of Ocumare de la Costa de Oro, Luis Lovera, who stressed that these actions are part of the social and educational policies promoted by the regional and municipal governments to guarantee access to pedagogical tools from early childhood.
“The delivery began last week with the placement of the copies in the Ocumare teaching spaces for students from first to third grade. Among the study centers served are Simoncito de Ocumare, Simoncito La Reserva sector as well as the Simoncito centers located in the town of Cata and Cuyagua,” said Lovera, who explained that in the coming days he will visit the schools located in El Playón, to cover all the educational facilities located throughout the length and breadth of the municipality.
He added that these are audio books, since they include a CD with the story narrated, with drawings and animations, which makes it easier to understand the text.
According to a press release from the mayor's office, the day not only included the provision of bibliographic material, but also a sharing that integrated teachers and children.
