More than 600 students from the Gran Colombia Educational Complex, located in Caracas, enjoyed the Science and Technology Fair where they were able to deepen their knowledge in robotics, computer science and programming.

As part of the day, young people had access to different stands of the entities attached to the Ministry for Science and Technology, where they activated their curiosity and increased their knowledge.

Among the institutions that participated are: the National Information Technology Commission (Conati), National Center for Information Technology (CNTI), Industrias Canaima, National Fund for Science, Technology and Innovation (Fonacit), Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology Caracas (Fundacite), National Center for Chemical Technology (CNTQ), National Center for Development and Research in Telecommunications Foundation (CENDIT), the Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán National University of Sciences, among others.

As reported by MINCYT in a press release, Levi Figueroa, part of the Fundacite Caracas team, said that “training and training has been given in the field of robotics, electronics and programming and even 3D design with these equipment that we have here so that young people and children in the country have the capacity to innovate and create technologies”.

For young people like Elismar Rojas, a 4th year student in the educational center, this day allowed him to learn more about technology and discover “the importance of computer science and how it works”, stressing that he now has a clearer orientation of “what career I would like to study”.

Meanwhile, student Natalie Urbina said that this activity “has allowed her to learn not only about science but also about technology, about physics”.

The activity allowed participants to learn about the GNU/Linux operating system, as well as to learn about Otto, a robot created by students with the support of the Infocentro Foundation. In addition, the boys and girls also discovered the evolution of the Canaimites and interacted with robot prototypes created with the Ultimate Kit 2.0.
