The state of Mérida enabled 458 voting centers for the first National Popular Consultation of the year 2026, 83 new venues compared to previous processes.

This was announced by the regional director of the Ministry of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, Evelin Quintero to the local press.

Quintero stressed that, in an effort to bring the process closer to communities, voting centers will not be limited to educational institutions, but will integrate “communal houses, multipurpose rooms, outpatient clinics and other common spaces of popular power. This opening makes it possible to expand access and facilitate leading participation in this national consultation,” he explained
