In the city of Caserta, solidarity movements, social groups, grassroots unions, political parties, intellectuals and academics express their solidarity with the Venezuelan people and demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and the First Combatant Cilia Flores.

The meeting marked the beginning of a series of presentations of “The Blue Book” by Commander Hugo Chávez, an edition made with the introduction of President Nicolás Maduro, with the participation of the professor of the Sapienza University of Rome, Luciano Vasapollo, president of the Magazine “Our America”, and the Consul General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Naples, Esquía Rubín De Celis, attended as a guest.

The activity took place at the “Malía” cultural center, and was organized by the Network of Italian Communists with the collaboration of the Power to the People party, as well as activists for peace in Palestine, who today are part of the “BringThemBack” Movement.

Professor Vasapollo, during his presentation, made a historical analysis of the origin of Commander Hugo Chávez's thinking in “The Blue Book”, which has transcended to the present with President Nicolás Maduro.

He explained how Venezuela has faced the harsh consequences of the economic blockade and the imposition of unilateral coercive measures, managing to become the country with the highest economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean.

He explained how in all these years public spending by the Bolivarian Government for social projects has increased, reaching more than 75%, demonstrating how foreign exchange collected through oil and other sectors has been invested in affordable housing, infrastructure, health, education and social welfare.

Referring to President (E) Delcy Rodríguez, the university professor explained that the Venezuelan people have the support of institutions in this hour of resistance, demonstrating that the priority is for the country to remain in peace, in continuous dialogue and fighting for the return of the President and the First Combatant.

He added that the president is the fruit and is the first-person protagonist of the revolutionary process, a person with all the confidence and capacity to face this delicate moment.

Vasapollo also asked to pay tribute to the fallen Cuban heroes defending President Maduro to the point of giving his own life, as a sign of the fraternity that exists between the Bolivarian Revolution and the Cuban Revolution.

The participants reiterated their support and commitment to the #BringThemBack movement and the importance of maintaining their presence in the country's squares on February 3, one month after the kidnapping of the presidential couple.

The Consul General greeted and thanked the solidarity with Venezuela and the support of groups, political parties and social organizations in calling for the release of President Maduro and his wife.
