INAMEH announces start of tropical wave season in the country

The season of tropical waves 2026 officially began in the national territory, reported the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH), an organization that forecasts the progressive passage of these atmospheric systems from the Atlantic Ocean to the country in the coming months

According to the report, tropical waves are disturbances that move from east to west and tend to generate increased cloud cover, rains of varying intensity and electrical activity, especially in regions of the east, north central coast and the plains, the institution said.

For this year, the transit of between 51 and 57 tropical waves is estimated, of which a significant number could directly or indirectly affect Venezuelan territory, contributing to the development of the rainy season.

The national Government, in coordination with risk management bodies, maintains active monitoring and care protocols to ensure the protection of citizens during this season.
