INAMEH forecasts Sahara Dust until August 17

From this Monday until August 17, Saharan dust is expected to be present in different regions of the country, the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) reported.

The agency indicated that the effect of Saharan dust is expected at mild concentrations over the Caribbean Sea, mainly felt in the northern coastal strip and some plain areas of the country.

In this regard, as reported by Radio Miraflores, Inameh explained that this phenomenon will cause atmospheric conditions that will limit the significant development of cloud cover, as well as the reduction of horizontal visibility.

At the same time, Inameh reported the movement of new tropical waves. Tropical wave number 34 will leave the national territory at the beginning of this week, while number 35 will enter between Monday and Tuesday. Tropical wave number 36 is expected to pass over the weekend.

These systems will interact with the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the Monsoon Valley, favoring variable rainfall and, in some sectors, stormy activity.

Rainfall could occur more frequently and intensely in Guayana Esequiba, Bolivar, Amazonas, the Central and Western Plains, the Andes and Zulia, mainly during the afternoon hours. Rainfall is also expected in some areas of the Northeastern and Central regions.
