Independent opposition members confirm their support for President Nicolás Maduro

Leaders of the independent opposition met with President Nicolás Maduro, in an act of ratification of their support and to achieve the formation of the National Front for Peace.

At the meeting that took place at the Presidential Palace of Miraflores, the mayor of the Obispos municipality of the state of Barinas, Adrián Azuaje, said that Venezuelans must work in harmony, for peace and the development of the country.

“This is a historic moment that Venezuela is experiencing, we are working for peace, in union, that peace that we all Venezuelans want,” Azuaje said.

For his part, the mayor of the municipality of El Socorro in Guárico state, Luis Pinto, emphasized the importance of strengthening the country's agricultural productive sector. “It's one of the things that we know should promote and we have the opportunity to develop an intensive plan with the Conuqueros.”

Meanwhile, Jesús Méndez, mayor of the Píritu municipality in the state of Anzoátegui, said he believes in peace, reconciliation and politics as a form of encounter.

Venezuela has very valuable human capital, which wants and can continue working to achieve solutions to the various problems,” he said.

The mayor of the Roscio municipality of Guárico state, Sulme Ávila, called for leaving aside hatred, “it is important to build peace, for the future, for the children and for the youth of the country.”

He also ratified all his support and commitment to President Nicolás Maduro, who in his opinion is doing everything possible to overcome the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country.

On the other hand, he warned Venezuelans not to believe in everything that is posted on social networks, “they are very liars, they create hate campaigns.”
