The Indian government rejected the decision of the United States (US) to impose an additional 25% tariff on its imports, in retaliation for purchases of crude oil from the Russian Federation.
In an official statement, the spokesman for the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, regretted the position taken by the Donald Trump administration.
“It is very regrettable that the United States has decided to impose additional tariffs on India because of measures that other countries are also taking in defense of their own national interests,” Jaiwal said.
