Indigenous peoples vote for projects to improve living conditions in their communities

The original peoples of Circuit 0111, inhabitants of Tavacare in the upper Barinas Victoria, voted at the Cacique Tavacare cc school. Wuacuaipa cabunga, to choose projects that benefit the community.


But also residents of the Guajira municipality, of the Wayuu, Añú and Yukpa ethnic groups, are participating in this first National Popular Consultation to improve their areas and the quality of life of the indigenous communities of this Zulian territory bordering Colombia.


The Antonio Ricaurte I Commune, established in 2010 and currently made up of 17 Community Councils, has already prioritized and implemented two community projects: The first was the rehabilitation of the electrical system, and the second, the provision of water tanks for 600 families, but now they will continue with another electrification project for 15 families using transformers and solar lamps.

This population of the Guajira municipality has demonstrated with facts that they can make efficient use of funding to strengthen the deficiencies of their communities.
