International athletes in Caracas compete in memorials Brígido Iriarte and Máximo Viloria 2026

Prominent figures of South American athletics are already in Venezuela to participate in the Brígida Iriarte and Máximo Viloria memorials, competitions that will take place on May 15 and 16 at the Brígida Iriarte stadium in Caracas and will bring together national and international athletes in different track and field events.
The sporting event will serve as a stage for preparation and evaluation for several athletes who seek to improve their marks in the face of international competitions and qualifying processes on the continental calendar, in addition to offering an important competitive level for Venezuelan athletic figures.
Among the foreign athletes who will be present are the Brazilians Anny Caroline De Bassi and Jadson Soares in the 400-meter events, as well as the Colombian sprinters Neiker Abello, Bernardo Baloyes and Marleth Ospino, as well as the Ecuadorian Ángela Tenorio, who will compete in the speed and hurdles modalities together with representatives from other countries in the region.
The international delegation will also be attended by Colombian shortstop players María Alejandra Rocha, Maribel Caicedo, Nicolás Castillo, Kevin Mina and Cristian Albarracín, as well as the Brazilian triplist Regiclecia Candido, in a program that will bring together speed tests, middle ground, jumps and throws.
Several of the main figures of national athletics will compete for Venezuela, including José Maita, Alexis Nieves, Kelvis Padrino, Javier Gómez, Bryant Álamo, Eubrig Maza and Orangy Jiménez, who will seek to maintain local leadership vis-a-vis foreign delegations.
In addition, in the background and field tests, names such as Sebastián López, Diego Caldeira, Yonny Pozas, Ottaynis Febres and Orlando Fernández stand out, as well as jumpers Brendan Pérez, William Landinez, Santiago Cova and Génesis Pire, who are part of the Creole representation that will see action during both days.
The competitive program includes tests of 100 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 3,000 meters smooth and with obstacles, as well as long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus and javelin throwing. The conference will be open to the public at the Brígida Iriarte stadium from 4:00 in the afternoon on Friday and from 3:30 in the afternoon on Saturday.
