The main avenues of the Maracaibo municipality, in the state of Zulia, are being intervened with horizontal and elevated road demarcation to ensure the mobility of drivers and pedestrians. This technical deployment, carried out by the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT), covers a total of 43.22 linear kilometers, of which 11 will have the application of thermoplastic material, a high-strength composite that ensures greater visibility and durability in prioritized road arteries.

The project will demarcate continuous and discontinuous longitudinal lines, corner crosswalks, stop lines and directional arrows. In addition, technical teams will incorporate road signs, bridge defenses, central articulated barriers and areas of converging and diverging transition at the accesses.

The plan involves Hugo Chávez Frías avenues, from the intersection of the Vía a La Concepción highway to the intersection of 148th Street; La Guajira, from Lago Mara Avenue to 72nd Street (Gilberto Correa); and 16th Avenue, from Plaza de Toros (in front of EPA Las Delicias) to the Chocado Car Service Station.

In the same way, the Circunvalación 1 highway will be intervened, from the Las Delicias Distributor to the Santa Clara Distributor. In this section, the above-mentioned thermoplastic material will be applied, which is composed of a molten mixture of resin, pigments and glass microspheres, which guarantees reflectivity and a useful life up to eight times that of conventional traffic paint

The execution of these tasks involves a length of 254,398.21 linear meters, an area equivalent to 65,570.65 square meters of paint. For its part, the elevated demarcation includes the placement of 30,498 reflective stripes for the nocturnal delimitation of the channels.
